Which database system should be used : Firebird (-SQL) or MS-SQL

90% of customers run a Firebird-Server, as it is very simple, fast and lean and requires almost no administration.
In addition, the Firebird software automatically creates a daily data backup.
The complete Firebird software is included in the scope of delivery, there are no additional license fees.

Possible Firebird versions are Firebird 2.5 (like Fwin demo or DBwin demo) or Firebird 3 (new)

10% of our customers already have a Microsoft MS-SQL-Server (min version 2012) running and want to run our software with it.
Our software does not create automatic data backups under MS-SQL - this is then the task of the SQL admin.
MS-SQL as a DBMS is therefore only recommended for customers who are very familiar with this database system and do not want to (or are not allowed to) use another database system

For all others, Firebird is the first choice and can be installed in just a few minutes. .
